Usable Skills for Literacy Instruction.

The focus of Sound. Clear. Direct. The CNY Education Conference is LITERACY.  How do we help our students grow as readers with an ability to comprehend deeply?  We know that it is critical to do so, but maybe we aren't sure of the best theories, or the most effective practices, or even where we fit into the literacy equation.

This conference was designed to address the needs of all educators.  There are workshops for high school content area teachers and for those responsible for developing early literacy skills.  English teachers will revel in the workshop on teaching grammar effectively--yes, it can be done!  Special needs teachers will find tips for vocabulary instruction and reading and writing strategies for struggling students.

What you will experience in Vernon, NY, on August 6th and 7th are no less than

SOUND instructional strategies for improving student reading and writing skills, presented in a CLEAR and usable manner, that can be taken back to the classroom and implemented in a DIRECT manner.
